TAC members working on collaborative art

Since June, TAC members have been gathering twice a month for something special—Social Hour, a collaborative art experience where creativity and community meet. What began as casual days of making art together has grown into a space where members network, share resources, and inspire one another.

Each session has been unique. Some days are filled with laughter, others with deep conversations, but all carry the same relaxed energy—a chance to connect with fellow artists while experimenting with collaborative pieces. Over the past few months, members have found joy not just in the art itself, but in the friendships and support that have blossomed around it.

As Richard Bay shared, “Meeting new people, fun, having a relaxed atmosphere to talk and share ideas!”

Leslie Hamrick added, “I have enjoyed getting to know other artists…the community feel has been wonderful! It has been fun to see how other people work and see how very different approaches can come together. I sincerely hope this continues!”

For many, Social Hour has opened doors to new opportunities. Candacee White reflected, “It has been nice to share resources and old work also—I’m impressed with the quality of collaboration work that has been put together. Having a chance to chat with TAC artists has been really nice and refreshing. Also, last Sunday, Claudette suggested that Leslie Hammrick and I apply for a group show at Paseo and we did! Just barely made the deadline. My point being, opportunities arise when you talk to fellow artists who are rooting for you to succeed.”

These sessions have built momentum toward something bigger. All the collaborative pieces created during Social Hour will be showcased in a special pop-up exhibition, opening Thursday, October 30, from 6–9 p.m. at TAC. The exhibition will run through Saturday, November 1, offering visitors a glimpse into what happens when artists come together to share ideas, experiment, and support one another.

And because it will be Halloween weekend, costumes are welcome at the opening night celebration—a perfect way to embrace the spirit of creativity and community.

What began as a simple gathering has grown into something meaningful: a reminder that art doesn’t happen in isolation. It thrives when people connect, collaborate, and cheer each other on.

We hope you’ll join us on October 30 to celebrate the artwork, the artists, and the friendships that have taken shape through Social Hour.
