About

TAC has had a long and proud tradition of holding artist receptions on the first Friday of each month, and has made this a tradition in our current space at 9 East Reconciliation Way, since 1996.

The First Friday Art Crawl was established by the Brady Arts District Business Association in 2007, building on the neighborhood’s status as a Tulsa arts destination. This year-round monthly event features all of the galleries, studios and museums as well as the part-time galleries in various shops opening their doors to show art. The Art Crawl is held on the first Friday of the month from 6–9 pm.

In line with its original purpose, local artists display and sell their work. This event has grown from 50–100 people visiting 4–6 venues to an event that has drawn over 3,000 people every month and continues to attract new people to Downtown Tulsa.

First Friday is a perfect date night starting with a cocktail, coffee or early dinner on one of the many patios. It can also be a leisurely browse of the art and a great late dinner or nightcap at the District’s unique restaurants or clubs.

Besides the mini-galleries being open, the established museums and galleries offer free admission and many shops stay open late. During any given Art Crawl, visitors can expect visual art, performances and maybe a few fireworks! Each venue shares something different and creative, offering visitors a true hallmark experience of the Arts District.

Families can find many options from kid-friendly gallery shows to live music in the park. For those who like to linger even later, stay for one of the clubs, bars or coffee shops – many of which offer live entertainment.

Parking

There’s plenty of street parking in the Arts District. However, during the Art Crawl, patrons may find it difficult to park in front of their favorite venue and may find parking a block or two away, making for a short scenic walk through beautiful downtown Tulsa.

Additional parking for the Arts District is available in the North Parking Garage at First and Main on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Entrance to the garage is on Main between First Street and Archer. You may find it more convenient to park on the east side of the garage near the Jazz Hall of Fame, to enter the District over the pedestrian bridge via the Center of the Universe. Signage will be provided at various locations in the District and other locations downtown to direct our patrons to the garage.

Charges for parking are $2 on non-event nights and $5 for event nights.

Parking is also available in the BOK lots on Archer (free if there is no ball game), the lot at Main and Cameron and the lot at Brady and Boulder (across from the Brady Theater).
