Hidden in Plain Sight  features photographer Kimberly Yates, whose macrophotography reveals the intricate beauty quietly thriving in the overlooked corners of the natural world.

Yates has been devoted to photography since age 17, rarely seen without a camera in hand. While her family has become accustomed to her ever-present lens, it’s in nature where she feels most connected—where the camera becomes an extension of her own curiosity and a tool for seeing with greater clarity. Since her first exhibitions in 2022, Yates has shown her work in both solo and group shows across the Midwest.

Hidden in Plain Sight invites viewers to slow down and observe the extraordinary details often missed at first glance. From a spider mite no larger than a pinhead to a ladybug stretching skyward to an assassin bug lost in contemplation, Yates magnifies the tiny subjects that contribute to the vast tapestry of life. The exhibit serves as a reminder that wonder often lives just beneath the surface—waiting for those willing to look closely.
