The highly anticipated 5 x 5 Show and Sale is a cornerstone annual fundraiser that has become a vital part of Tulsa’s art landscape. For a quarter of a century, this unique exhibition has showcased the diverse talents of over 100 local artists, fostering connections between artists and art lovers while directly supporting the region’s creative community.
As the first fundraiser of its kind in the area, the 5 x 5 Show and Sale draws enthusiastic crowds year after year. Patrons eagerly anticipate the opportunity to discover new artists and acquire unique 5" x 5" artworks, all priced accessibly at $55 each. Many have built collections over the years, a testament to the show's lasting appeal and the quality of work it presents.
This milestone 25th-anniversary event continues its tradition of offering an exceptional array of small-scale masterpieces. Importantly, the 5 x 5 Show and Sale serves as the major annual fundraiser for TAC, with 100% of the proceeds directly benefiting local artists through the TAC Gallery. “The 5x5 Show and Sale isn't just an exhibition; it’s a vital fundraiser that allows TAC to provide essential support to local artists year-round,” said Colleen Stiles, president of the Tulsa Artists’ Coalition. “By purchasing these 5" x 5" works of art, you’re directly contributing to our ability to give artists a professional platform, create opportunities for them to share their work, and connect our community through art.”
For two and a half decades, the 5 x 5 Show and Sale has been a highly anticipated event, with Tulsans known to line up outside the TAC Gallery hours before the opening reception, eager to secure their favorite pieces. The exhibition provides invaluable exposure for participating artists, showcasing their work to the thousands of art enthusiasts who frequent the Tulsa Arts District each month, while also making original art accessible to a broad audience.
Over the years, the show has attracted contributions from well-known regional artists such as Otto Deuker, P.S. Gordon, and Marjorie Atwood, whose miniature masterpieces are often sought after by dedicated collectors. The enduring popularity and consistent success of the 5 x 5 Show and Sale underscore its crucial role in sustaining the Tulsa Artists’ Coalition and the local art ecosystem.
