Scott Goodpaster

The TAC Board is deeply saddened to learn of the unexpected passing of Scott Goodpaster. A longtime member of Tulsa Artists’ Coalition, he was an important part of Tulsa's artistic community and a presence that will be greatly missed.

His work, generosity, and friendship left a lasting mark on so many, and his loss will be felt throughout the art community.

On behalf of the TAC Board and Membership, we extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Scott Goodpaster’s work presents the natural world and invites reflection on the perfection of nature. His usual technique requires the careful application of multiple, thin layers of oil paint and glazes. Invisible brushstrokes and precise drawing reveal the essence of the subject while concealing the artist’s hand. Drawn to many styles and always exploring different techniques, Goodpaster also paints in the impressionist style. Quickly executed, wet on wet paint, thick impasto, and creative color choices combine to create works where the artist’s hand and mind are very much evident. The subject remains unchanged: the perfection of nature.
