Award Winners
TAC is proud to announce the Best of Show award going to John Owen for his powerful “The Last Words of Elijah McClain”.
This graphite drawing depicts a young man killed by police. The shading in McClain’s face consists of the names of other African Americans killed by police. Of his work, Owen states, “I really feel that art can help make changes in the world and this is my small attempt to help right the wrong that happened to Elijah McClain. I sincerely believe in the ability of art to touch people as nothing else can. Maybe this small step will help to change a few hearts for the better and to help bring about changes in society.”

Honorable Mention awards go to “Aspens Near Creede” by Micheal Jones, “Kaleidoscope” by Taylor Young, “Purple Thistle” by Linda Moody, and “PTSD” by Arthur Uphold.
