Teleportal

Playing the classic children’s game ‘telephone,’ Teleportal’s 18 international members, and two local Tulsa artists invited by local Teleportal member JP Morrison Lans will interpret a singular artwork passed from one artist to the next. While each artist is only aware of the work that preceded theirs, the result is a body of work that comprises visual interpretations of the original image that is transformed into something completely different. Teleportal has previously exhibited their work in New York City, NY., Milwaukee, Wi., and Munich, Germany. This series began with a Tulsa based theme and explores each artists’ interpretation on the previous artists work and the place (Tulsa) creating a unique narrative of works which span the globe.

TELEPORTAL is a group of professional artists working and communicating virtually from around the world. After years of each artist working independently, a new international collaborative relationship was formed in 2021 through a residency program held at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, New York. The result is a collection of passionate visual stories about social and political concerns, relationships, identity, memory and more, told through several cultural and generational lenses. This encourages unique conversation between the artists, using mediums such as paintings, drawings, photographs, videos, interactive installations, and sculptures as vehicles. PARTICIPATING ARTISTS: Raquel Adler, New York, USA., Tamera Bedford, Hong Kong, China., Marisa Bernotti, Soriano, Uruguay., Heather Brammeier, Illinois, USA., Carol Chediak, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil., Joe Cimino, New Jersey, USA., Felipe Góes, São Paulo, Brazil., Nina Gospodin, Vienna, Austria., Janet Lee, Hong Kong, China., Libe, Quebec, Canada., Linda Marcus, Milwaukee., USA.
