As to the meaning of her title, "Vacilando", Galvan explains it as
"travel with direction, but with no set destination. The theme of this show is a brief window into a way of living
that is constantly different to that which we are used to seeing." She adds, "During
my 'vacilando' in Mexico, no one asked where I was going, what I was
doing, or what my camera's purpose was. They just let me be. We are reminded often of living life to its fullest and finding simplicity, but
are bombarded with the reality of living the fastest and the easiest.
There are places where rushing is neither attainable nor desired."
"By
showing images as simple as the faces, the scenery and the unnoticeable
embellishments of Mexico, I hope to pass along an emotion. No particular
one comes to mind. Just an emotion what will connect the viewer to a world
that's within fingertips, both physically and mentally? To a culture where
the beauty of each day is neither forgotten nor pushed aside, I wanted to
capture a piece of that life."
